Hub Zemke - famed 56th Fighter Group leader - is seen leading his pilots in to defend a stricken B-17 against the persistant attacks of marauding FW190s
This print has four of the most collectible signatures of World War II:
Many years ago - when I had my gallery in Virginia - we did the signing of this print with the above Aces. We had so much fun with them all- Hub kept wanting to go off and do something else - and I had to keep sitting him down so we could get the prints signed!! Bud Mahurin had the best sense of humor and we all laughed our way through. Those were wonderful days - and I feel very fortunate to have known these brave men and - over the years - to have become friends with them all.
Just an interesting note on the signatures:
Frances Gabreski was the leading living American Ace at the signing - and then Bud Mahurin became the leading living American Ace when Gabby died.
Buy a piece of history - these prints are selling elsewhere for over $600.
